ETA-IL: Quarter of a million applications were submitted to enter Israel

Three months after the ETA requirement for arrival in Israel came into effect: 248,858 applications for the ETA form were submitted on the Population and Immigration Authority website

On 1.1.25, the requirement to obtain an arrival authorization for Israel (ETA) came into effect for tourists arriving from countries exempt from the permit.

The goal of the move, led by the Border Control Administration and which also came into effect in the UK, is to ensure in advance that there is no impediment to arrival in Israel and to prevent distress for travelers.

So far, three months after the directive came into effect, 248,858 applications have been submitted, of which 245,720 applications were approved and 3,138 were rejected. Most of the rejections were for immigration reasons.

The designated hotline received 8,730 applications, of which 162 were inquiries regarding the rejections received.

The top five countries from which tourists arrived with an ETA form:

1- USA: 73,852

2- France: 28,474

3- UK: 18,052

4- Russia: 11,418

5- Germany: 8,159

The Population and Immigration Authority reminds that filling out the form involves a fee of $7 (25 NIS) and that the form must be filled out on the country's official website.
