Sunken ship 3300 years old was discovered near Israel

Sunken ship 3300 years old was discovered 90 km from the coast of Israel at a depth of 1.8 km,this is the oldest ship ever found in the world in deep water.

The find is amazing some of the jugs were preserved in excellent condition.

The find was made by employees of the international gas field development company Energeon, which operates the Israeli fields Karish, Tanin, and Katlan. The jars date back to the Canaanite Bronze Age. Archaeologists have suggested that perhaps the ship sank due to a storm or perhaps due to pirates. There were already pirates here in the Bronze Age, so there could have been them too.

The vessel is approximately 12-14 meters long, carrying hundreds of jugs, only some of them lie on the surface of the bottom, part of the vessel and cargo rests in a layer of silt.

Two jugs from different sides of the shipwreck were raised to the surface so as not to disturb the location of the find.

Jugs are special for transporting various dry and liquid goods, such as wine, oil, even fruit or grain. The shape of the jugs provided them with stability during pitching.

But the most important thing is that two more similar ships were found and both are located near the coast of Turkey. Based on this, it was assumed that all shipping was along the coast for short distances, there was no navigation on the open sea. Now we need to completely reconsider this assumption; it may well turn out that even then the ancient sailors knew how to navigate by celestial objects. And this changes the entire understanding of ancient navigation.

Thanks to its great depth, the ship was well preserved and was not damaged.
